How did you get into farming?

My stepdad offered me a job to help out 5 years ago, and I’ve been helping whenever I can ever since.

How did you get in The Marine Corps?

I was unsure about what exactly I wanted to do after high school, so I decided to join The Marine Corps with my brother Dylan. We are a lot alike. Both very competitive and athletic. That's why we chose the toughest military branch, the USMC.

What do you think a big MISCONCEPTION is about farming?

Lets just say that I have all of my teeth...

What's your relationship status?

Single.

Do you have children?

None.

What is your attitude about money?

Be grateful for what you earn and save as much as possible.

Okinawa, Japan

Paris, France

If you could meet a few famous people, dead or alive, who would they be?

Quentin Tarantino because I’m a huge fan of his movies.

Tell us about your day: When does it start and end?

IN the USMC: We wake up around 5:00 a.m., go for a run, go to class or whatever is on the schedule, then get off around 6:00 p.m. ON the FARM: Well it’s pretty much the same. Wake up around 6:00 a.m., go to the supply store, then head to work, and hope to be off around 9 p.m.

What makes you HAPPY in a day?

ON the FARM: Whenever McClendon and Heath promote me. It's an inside joke! IN the USMC: The competition and new friends.

What makes you FRUSTRATED in a day?

ON the FARM: Poly pipe... IN the USMC: Peoples’ attitudes.

What's the BEST part of a day?

ON the FARM: Lunchtime and watching Heath eat his hoagie. IN the USMC: Whenever we get off work. Dylan and I will go to the gym.

What's the WORST part of a day?

ON the FARM: The heat in the summer. IN the USMC: Waking up and running a ridiculous amount.

What was the HARDEST part getting started?

ON the FARM: Probably the long hours, but now you should want as many as you can get! IN The USMC: It would have to be learning to follow orders, and always being flexible because the plans could change within an hour.

What SURPRISED you about farming?

How many considerations you have to take for a good crop.

What surprised you about the USMC?

How complex, yet simple it really is.

Any lessons learned?

ON the FARM: If someone is struggling with anything always lend them a hand. IN the USMC: I’ve learned to trust people, be more responsible, and become more patient.

Do you have any advice to share with fellow farmers?

Don’t put up with laziness.

What would you like those who have never farmed to know?

If you think you’ve worked hard then step on a farmer’s land.

If you’re interested, do your research.

Where do you think you'll be in 5 or 10 years?

Out of The Marine Corps, going to college, and probably working on the farm again whenever I can.
